PROM1 and glioma: To investigate the function of autophagy in the maintenance of stemness in gliomas, we screened the expression of core autophagy genes in microarray profiles with GSCs (n = 12) and conventional glioma cell lines (CGCs) (n = 32).[11] We identified 17 genes whose expression were elevated in GSCs relative to CGCs (p < 0.01) (Figure 1A) and analyzed their correlation with the glioma stemness marker PROM1 in the TCGA LGGGBM dataset (Figure 1B).
