Liu et al. (2013) found that MALAT1 (metastasis-associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1), a lncRNA that has been associated with cardiomyopathy and myocardial infarction [58], also contains a number of m6A editing sites, of which two are located in the stems of the hairpin structure of MALAT1. Here, MALAT1 is linked to cardiomyopathy.
