The genes known as tumor suppressors or involved in tumor suppression mechanisms (FBN2, MAPK10, c-Jun, and p53), those involved in the nucleotide excision repair pathway (ERCC1, XPA), and the regulatory component of the apoptotic pathway (Bcl-2) were found to be overexpressed in the responders (13–15). The gene discussed is XPA; the disease is neoplasm.
