On the one side, the Treg-depleting activity of anti-CTLA4 antibodies described in mouse models (Selby et al., 2013; Simpson et al., 2013) has not been replicated in human cancers (Sharma et al., 2019) and subsequent attempts of targeting tumor infiltrating Tregs by an anti-CCR4 antibody were limited by concomitant depletion of effector CD4+ and CD8+ T cells (Kurose et al., 2015).
