A role for TLR7 in promoting inflammation of the liver (Hanna Kazazian et al., 2019) may be relevant to the disturbances of glycemic control in MetS and the high prevalence of dysglycemia and hyperinsulinemia SLE, given the liver’s central role in whole-body glucose homeostasis; further investigation in this area appears warranted. This evidence concerns the gene TLR7 and Hyperinsulinemia.
