TLR2 could enhance macrophage receptor with collagenous structure (Marco)–induced neuroinflammation by acting on the scavenger receptors cysteine-reach (SRCR) domain of Marco, which also suggested that TLR2 could serve as a novel target for reducing neuroinflammation in neurodegenerative diseases (Wang et al., 2021). Here, TLR2 is linked to neurodegenerative disease.
