Highlighting its role in the inflammatory response during AKI, TEC specific NF-κB knockout mice had attenuated neutrophil and macrophage infiltration in I/R-injured AKI kidneys compared to wild-type control mice, and decreased expression vascular endothelial growth factor A(VEGFA), C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 1(CXCL1), and CXCL2 in cultured NF-κB knockout TECs in vitro (37).
