GH1 and diabetes mellitus: The glycaemic thresholds for eliciting hormone responses all occurred at lower glucose levels in people with diabetes than in those without diabetes (all p<0.01, Figs 1, 2): 3.8 (3.2–4.2) vs 3.4 (2.8–3.9) mmol/l for adrenaline; 3.2 (3.2–3.7) vs 3.0 (2.8–3.1) mmol/l for noradrenaline; 3.5 (3.2–4.2) vs 2.8 (2.8–3.4) mmol/l for cortisol and 3.8 (3.3–3.8) vs 3.2 (3.0–3.3) mmol/l for growth hormone.
