The results of KEGG pathway enrichment analysis demonstrated that the activated pathways correlated with TAZ expression included “Leishmaniasis,” “Pathways in cancer,” “Hippo signaling pathway,” and “Cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction.” In addition, the co-expressed genes also demonstrated a certain level of enrichment in “TGF-beta signaling pathway” and “human immunodeficiency virus 1 infection,” which indicated that TAZ might be involved in immunological processes associated with CRC (Figure 5B). The gene discussed is WWTR1; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
