Different other biomarkers have been identified as predictor of mortality in COVID-19 patients when measured at hospital admission.21,22 However, comparing these findings to our study is challenging, because the predictive value of a biomarker at admission may not be the same as the predictive value of the trend of the same biomarker during admission, as illustrated by our finding that the trend of CRP is no predictor of mortality. Here, CRP is linked to COVID-19.
