KDM6B and neoplasm: In contrast, JMJD3 could promote cancer cell invasion and tumor growth through epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and apoptosis through activating BCL2 or SLUG in various cancer types, such as gastric cancer, breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, ovarian cancer, renal cell carcinoma and multiple myeloma (Lee et al., 2021; Li et al., 2015; Liang et al., 2019; Ohguchi et al., 2017; Ramadoss, Chen & Wang, 2012; Shen et al., 2012; Svotelis et al., 2011; Tang et al., 2016; Xu et al., 2019; Zhang et al., 2019).
