Predictors of in-hospital mortality in our cohort were age ≥ 60 years, COPD, qSOFA score ≥ 2, leukocytosis (WBC > 10 × 109/L), lymphopenia (ALC < 1000), neutrophilia (neutrophil ≥ 70%), PaO2/FiO2 ratio (PFR) ≤ 200, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) < 90 mL/min/1.73 m2, LDH > 600 U/L, and CRP > 12 mg/L. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
