Finally, 11 metabolic genes that were significantly overexpressed in BC and associated with survival were identified, of 10 genes (SLC7A5, HPRT1, LPCAT1, SLC12A8, MTHFD2, ALDH18A1, APOO, B4GALT3, ALG3, SLC35A2) that might reduce BC survival were considered risk factors (p < 0.05; HR, 1.171–1.681), whereas overexpression of the remaining gene, PLA2G10, may improve survival and was considered a protective factor (p < 0.05; HR, 0.8719). The gene discussed is LPCAT1; the disease is breast cancer.
