PDCD1 and acute myeloid leukemia: PD1 (pembrolizumab and Nivolumab) or PDL1 (Durvalumab) inhibition therapies alone had limited clinical activity in AML and the hypomethylating agent (Azacitidine(AZA)) can promote immune recognition of tumor cells and increase expression of immune checkpoint molecules (PD1/PDL1) mediating resistance to AZA.
