CRP and pneumonia: Secondary outcomes were 1) rate of severe pneumonia; 2) criticality score (SMART-COP score) (Charles et al., 2008); 3) acute physiological and chronic health assessment system (APACHEII score) (Knaus et al., 1985); 4) temperature, lower respiratory bacterial clearance, LC clearance rate, CRP, Procalcitonin (PCT), and oxygenation index (PaO2/FiO2); 5) clinical endpoint event incidence (acute respiratory failure, septic shock, acute heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, and all-cause death).
