Accordingly, several studies performed on genotype–phenotype correlations in cardiac laminopathy demonstrated that truncation mutations are associated with more severe phenotypes and poor prognosis in LMNA mutation carriers because of the early onset of conduction disturbance, atrial fibrillation, malignant ventricular arrhythmias, and sudden death (van Rijsingen et al., 2012; Nishiuchi et al., 2017). Here, LMNA is linked to atrial fibrillation.
