Although this subtype of diabetes has been noted for many years, the pathogenesis is still unclear why type 2 diabetes like patients with diabetes associated autoantibodies, such as GADA, IA2, Zn8TA, or insulin autoantibodies (IAA), who does not require insulin at onset, and can be treated with lifestyle modification and oral agents, progress to requiring insulin more rapidly than typical type 2 diabetes (t2dm). Here, INS is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
