PRTN3 and viral infectious disease: Among these upregulated genes three were Pathogenesis-related 1 (PR1) genes, six PR2 (β-1,3-glucanase) and PR3 (chitinase) genes, four PR5 (thaumatin-like protein) genes, and fifteen PR9 (peroxidase) genes, together with two homoeologous genes encoding RNA-binding proteins (P < 0.01, Supplementary Table S13), suggesting their potential role in the host response to viral infection.
