With decreasing quartiles of TyG index, the prevalence of obesity, hypercholesteremia, hypertension, and current smoking were progressively higher (all p < 0.001), paralleling the progressive increase of triglycerides, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, HOMA-IR, insulin, HDL-C, LDL-C, TC, and fasting blood glucose (all p < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene INS and hypertensive disorder.
