With respect to the prognostic factors in AAV patients, several clinical factors were identified to predict overall survival (OS), such as advanced renal failure, pulmonary hemorrhage, usual interstitial pneumonia, age, Birmingham vasculitis activity score (BVAS), accompanying comorbidities, functional status, glomerular filtration rate (GFR), white blood cell (WBC), hemoglobin (Hb), complement 3 (C3), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and serum creatinine (Scr) (9–13). The gene discussed is GSTM1; the disease is anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis.
