Interestingly, independent studies have identified single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of KPNA3, predicted to decrease KPNA3 expression, to be associated with schizophrenia in cohorts from the United Kingdom, China, and Australia (Wei and Hemmings, 2005; Zhang et al., 2006; Morris et al., 2012). This evidence concerns the gene KPNA3 and schizophrenia.
