CDKN2A and meningioma: The current WHO classification for meningiomas remains the most important mean to identify patients at risk (Louis et al. 2021), while several aberrations such as mutations of the promotor of the telomere reverse transcriptase (TERT) (Sahm et al. 2016), loss of the histone trimethylation H3K27me3 (Behling et al. 2020) and loss of the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A/B (CDKN2A/B) (Sievers et al. 2020) are important adjuncts when it comes to refining risk stratification of meningioma patients.
