In patients with obesity and diabetes, the likelihood of COVID‐19 progression to more severe forms of COVID‐19 increased from 0.1% with low levels of IL‐10 and IL‐12 (p70) to >80% with levels of these cytokines exceeding the sensitivity thresholds of 90%. In addition, the risk of progression to severe disease in the presence of three clinical comorbidities was 1.0% with levels of IL‐10 and IL‐12 (p70) below thresholds and 97.5% with levels above thresholds. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
