Studies from Europe (European Action LADA) and Asia have reported that the levels of inflammatory cytokines, such as high-sensitivity C-RP (hs-CRP), IL-6, serum adhesion molecules (soluble VCAM-1, soluble ICAM-1, and soluble E-selectin), and chemokines (CCL2, CCL3, and CCL4), in LADA patients were similar to those of patients with classic T1DM, lower than those of antibody-negative T2DM patients, and higher than those of normal controls (44, 45). Here, CRP is linked to type 1 diabetes mellitus.
