The final multivariate model included seven covariates: age ≥ 65 years [OR: 4.2 (95% CI, 2.1–8.3)]; history of COPD or OSA [OR: 2.4 (95% CI, 1.2 4.6)]; thyroid disease, either hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism [OR: 2.8 (95% CI, 1.1–7.3)]; NT-proBNP ≥ 250 pg/ml [OR: 4.0 (95% CI, 2.2–7.5)]; left atrial enlargement [OR: 3.6 (95% CI, 2.1–6.4)], cortical topography of stroke, including hemispheric or cerebellar cortex [OR: 2.2 (95% CI, 1.1–4.2)]; and intracranial large vessel occlusion [OR: 2.0 (95% CI, 1.1–3.6)].
