In support of this hypothesis we note that, although the most frequently mutated gene in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Pan-Cancer cohort (42% of samples) (36), no somatic TP53 genetic alteration was observed in any of the RMC tumor samples from Figure 1 nor the 31 RMC patients molecularly profiled in (13). The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is neoplasm.
