More interestingly, in human AKI patients, the expression levels of DUSP2 in renal tubules were negatively correlated with renal injury markers, including renal tubular injury score, serum creatine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and cystatin C (Figure 1G), indicating that loss-of-DUSP2 in RTECs is closely associated with AKI pathogenesis.
