A recent study on the effect of genetic ancestry on tumor genomic alterations in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma found similar mutations affecting PIM1, MYD88, MLL2, HIST1H1E, and BCL2 genes across European, African, and Asian ancestry groups, suggestive of an identical underlying mechanism of disease pathogenesis [12]. The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
