To determine the role of PRMT2 in myeloid cells in atherosclerosis regression, we performed bone marrow transplants from littermate WT and Prmt2−/− mice into lethally irradiated Ldlr−/− mice, as diagrammed in Fig. 1A. After bone marrow transplant, mice were allowed to recover for 4 weeks and then fed a Western diet (WD) for 20 weeks to permit advanced atherosclerotic plaques to develop. Here, LDLR is linked to atherosclerosis.
