Compared with noncirrhotic patients (n=103), those with cirrhosis (n=20) had significantly higher liver stiffness by MRE, serum fibrosis markers including ELF (and its components), liver biochemistry (GGT, alkaline phosphatase, bilirubin), and serum bile acids, and lower platelets, large VLDL concentration, VLDL size, total HDL particles, and apolipoprotein A1 (Table 1).
