Strikingly, despite apparently normal ankle and hind paw mechanical sensitivity prior to the induction of arthritis, global Fcgr1-/- mice also exhibited less mechanical hyperalgesia in the ankle and hind paw, compared with Fcgr1+/+ littermates, throughout both the inflammatory and postinflammatory phases of CAIA (Figures 1C–E). This evidence concerns the gene FCGR1A and arthritic joint disease.
