Using publicly available gene expression data with associated patient outcomes [24], we found that MCL patients (n = 122) with higher expression of either SAE1, UBA2, or UBE2I expression had a worse overall survival, with SAE1 expression levels showing the greatest separation of survival curves, further demonstrating the relevance of sumoylation pathway in MCL (Fig. 1D). The gene discussed is UBE2I; the disease is mantle cell lymphoma.
