[38] described  the relevance of HMGB1 expression with colorectal cancer development [35]; for instance, a higher HMGB1 in the serum of colorectal cancer patients suggested a significantly higher mRNA and protein expression pertinent to HMGB1 than normal mucosa of colorectal region [35].
