Mazzoleni et al. proposed that GABA(A)R signaling plays a key role in the development of PCDH19-related epilepsy, adding the syndrome to the demonstrated list of disorders with a malfunction of this receptor including Dravet syndrome, fragile X syndrome, Rett syndrome, and Prader-Willi syndrome, showing that a dysfunction in these receptors leads to pathological outcomes [1,6]. This evidence concerns the gene PCDH19 and epilepsy.
