Vitamin D can downregulate growth hormones (Koga et al., 1988; Yanagisawa et al., 1999) and suppress cell proliferation in many cancers (Campbell et al., 1997; Sundaram et al., 2000); omega-3s can inhibit carcinogenesis through anti-inflammatory properties, suppress angiogenesis (Larsson et al., 2004; Calviello et al., 2007) or exert ferroptosis of acidic cancer cells through lipid peroxidation (Dierge et al., 2021); and exercise can induce the apoptosis of tumor cells (Wang and Zhou, 2020).
