MAOB and Parkinson disease: MAO-B-inhibitors against PD include the irreversible inhibitor selegiline (L-deprenyl), which was first approved by the FDA in 1996, followed by rasagiline in 2006 (Knudsen Gerber, 2011), as well as safinamide, the first reversible FDA-approved MAO-B inhibitor against PD available for clinical use since 2015 (Deeks, 2015).
