To fully validate that the methyltransferase activity of SMYD3 is required for its function in SCLC, we performed similar xenograft assays with engineered H1092 depleted for SMYD3 and complemented with either wild-type (WT) or F183A catalytically inactive SMYD3 (Fig. 1H; Supplementary Fig. S1J). The gene discussed is SMYD3; the disease is small cell lung carcinoma.
