Although we did not detect significant changes in the expression of these genes after LCN2 stimulation in cultured OPCs, in vivo findings in individuals with MS and other diseases confirmed the nuclear translocation and activation of oligodendrocyte differentiation-dependent transcription factors, suggesting that complementary pathways likely coordinate the oligodendroglial lineage and may also respond in parallel. The gene discussed is LCN2; the disease is myeloid sarcoma.
