To this point, work has been conducted to suggest people with Alzheimer’s disease treated with cholinesterase inhibitors may have altered frequency-specific dynamics, particularly in the lower canonical frequency bands like delta and theta,89,90 which is distinct from the gamma responses we examined here, but nonetheless does suggest that more oscillatory-focused work should be done to understand the effects of medications in clinical populations to provide a fuller characterization of these findings. This evidence concerns the gene BCHE and Alzheimer disease.
