INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus: We have previously demonstrated that latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA) subjects positive for IA-2(256–760) but negative for GAD Abs showed a phenotype resembling classical type 2 diabetes (T2D), with higher BMI, waist circumference, and lower progression to insulin requirement than those positive for both IA-2(256–760) and GAD Abs (13).
