INS and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Patients who started once-weekly semaglutide experienced a de-intensification in their T2D treatment from baseline to 12 months’ follow-up, with declines in the number of daily glucose-lowering drugs (3.5 ± 1.2 to 2.2 ± 0.8, p<0.05), the proportion of patients with basal insulin (63.2% to 32.3%, p<0.001), basal insulin dose (39.0 ± 21.8 to 20.2 ± 8.9, p<0.001), and the proportion of patients with insulin combinations (13.8% to 0, p<0.01).
