Similarly, ABCG2, SLC2A9, solute carrier family 16 member 9 (SLC16A9), glucokinase (hexokinase 4) regulator (GCKR), SLC22A11, SLC22A12, PDZ domain containing 1 (PDZK1), and SLC17A1 were found to be significantly associated with hyperuricemia and gout risk in Asian, native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander populations estimated using the biospecimens repository at the University of Hawai’i (Alghubayshi et al., 2022). Here, SLC2A9 is linked to hyperuricemia.
