A study conducted on RAW264.7 cell which is a macrophage cell line that was established from a tumor in a male mouse induced with the Abelson murine leukemia virus showed that 4-OI reduced the accumulation of neutrophils and secretion of inflammatory factors (P<0.05) in LPS-induced acute lung injury (ALI), and significantly reduced the active oxygen species content of tissues (P <0.05), simultaneously upregulating the expression of Nrf-2 and Nrf-2 target genes in lung tissue (28). This evidence concerns the gene NFE2L2 and acute lung injury.
