Increasing evidence shows that the TDP-43 protein plays a role in the pathogenesis of diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), front temporal lobar dementia (FTLD) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and an increasing number of experts have proposed TDP-43 proteinopathy (Gao et al., 2018; Jamerlan & An, 2020). Here, TARDBP is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
