IFNG and neoplasm: DHA was also found to induce the expansion of splenic Interferon-γ (IFN-γ)+ CD8+ T cells and upregulated IFN-γ expression in tumor microenvironment.6 Additionally, DHA ameliorated inflammation through enhancing the suppressive function of regulatory T cells (Tregs).7–9 Although, the exact mechanism by which DHA beneficially regulated host immune system has not been well understood, it is postulated that DHA-induced mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) activation might be involved.10,11
