Recently, we critically reviewed the ALS–Pb relationship through a systematic review of the scientific literature of the last decade (2011–2020), giving a complete picture of the most recent epidemiological, clinical, and experimental evidence of the pathogenic role of Pb in ALS, reporting also a potential ALS pathogenic mechanism of Pb involving TAR DNA-binding protein misfolding and accumulation [10]. Here, TARDBP is linked to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
