Exposure to BPA (50 μg/kg/d) significantly increased BW with significantly greater amounts of epididymal and perirenal fat pads and increased food intake.BPA alone had no effect on fasting glucose or the glucose tolerance test, but BPA exposure of 50 μg/kg/day increased insulin and leptin levels.BPA impaired glucose homeostasis, induced obesity, and increased food intake in adult male rats. The gene discussed is LEP; the disease is obesity disorder.
