In women with endometriosis, there is a significant infiltration of these cells in the peritoneal fluid, consequently, neutrophil chemotactic factors such as interleukin-8 (IL-8), granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF), chemokine ligands 1, 2, and 3 (CXCL-1, CXCL-2 and CXCL-3, CXC Motif Chemokine Ligand 1, 2 and 3), among others, are also increased in the peritoneal fluid, leading to positive feedback for the recruitment of this cell type. This evidence concerns the gene CSF3 and endometriosis.
