Moreover, binary logistic regression showed that patients who had LGALS3 rs4644 CC and rs4652 AA genotypes had 3.2- and 10-times-higher risk, respectively, of developing diabetes mellitus (p = 0.018; OR = 3.27; CI 1.30–8.60 and p = 0.017; OR = 3.27; CI 1.32–8.13, respectively). Here, LGALS3 is linked to diabetes mellitus.
