In this sense, given that OLFMs are strongly linked to cellular processes [16,17] and have been related to some disorders, such as obesity and hepatocarcinoma (HCC), among others [20,31,32,33,34], we wanted to evaluate the possible roles of OLFM2 and OLFM4 in NAFLD pathogenesis. This evidence concerns the gene OLFM4 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
